ABOUT

St. Patrick Regional Secondary is a Catholic, co-educational secondary school with 500 students from Grades 8 to 12 located in Vancouver’s picturesque Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, the traditional, unceded, and ancestral territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓ əm, Sḵwx̱ wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ First Nations. Core Competencies & Specific Qualities:

● Compassion and care for the mental well-being of young people

● Understanding of and affinity for working in a Catholic school environment

● Dynamic, energetic, willing to work collaboratively with other counsellors and teachers

● Master's Degree in Counselling

● Teaching Certification preferred

Responsibilities will include:

● Meet with and counsel young people in a school setting

● Refer students to appropriate health care agencies and providers when necessary

● Liaise with administrators, teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals

● Work with teachers and student leaders to promote positive mental health, and social and emotional well-being

● Contribute to co-curricular/extra-curricular life of the school

On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply. Our major hiring season is in April for the following school year, but we recommend that you apply now as we receive an influx of applications.
