ABOUT

Established in 1982, Our Lady of Assumption School (OLA) is a co-ed elementary school from kindergarten to grade 7 serving families in the Tri-Cities and neighbouring areas. Over the years, we have grown from our humble beginnings in our parish portables, to becoming a highly reputable school with over 240 students. Our school provides a variety of opportunities with various athletic and fine arts programs, as well as the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program. At OLA, staff and students participate in many community outreach initiatives, including fundraisers for local and international non-profit organizations. At OLA, our community strives to walk in the footsteps of Jesus through our shared belief to be caring, sharing, and daring. JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Lady of the Assumption School, Port Coquitlam, is seeking an enthusiastic, faith-filled, part-time Learning Resource teacher for September 2025 to June 2026. The successful candidate should be familiar with the BC curriculum and strategies to encourage students to develop their core competencies. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, a strong foundation in early literacy skills and a deep love and knowledge of the Catholic faith. Candidates should have the ability to work in a job-share position and have experience working with Education Assistants. The Learning Resource role will include
• coordinating and integrating support services that include school-based consultation, collaborative planning and instruction to students in a one to one or small group format; facilitating small group reading programs, including ReadWell Literacy.
• collaborating with parents, teachers and outside agencies to develop and review individualized education plans, as well as scheduling and supervising Educational Assistants
• collaborating with the school administration and learning resource coordinator to ensure that the identification, assessment, planning, implementation, reporting and evaluation process adheres to ministry guidelines.
