JOB DESCRIPTION
St. Mary's School is seeking a dedicated full-time Physical Education Teacher to join our team starting September 1, 2025. QUALIFICATIONS
Practicing Catholic with a deep respect for Catholic teachings and values.
Certified teacher with current or previous experience in Physical Education.
Strong proficiency in a wide range of sports and physical activities.
Previous coaching experience is an asset.
Experience in working with students of all abilities.
Ability to effectively engage and support English Language Learners.
Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students (K-7), staff, and parents.
Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement engaging and inclusive physical education lessons in a variety of environments, including the gym, playground, and nearby park.
Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love for physical activity.
Provide coaching and support for extracurricular sports activities throughout the year.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
Cultivate a positive, respectful, and engaging environment.

On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply. Our major hiring season is in April for the following school year, but we recommend that you apply now as we receive an influx of applications.
