The Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. JOB DESCRIPTION
St. Augustine School in Kitsilano is hiring a Teacher-Librarian starting in September 2025. This is a full-time position to for the entire academic year. Candidates will have a background in the Library and literacy programs. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with teachers to integrate information literacy into the curriculum, develop and manage library collections, and provide leadership in promoting a love of learning and literacy. They also play a key role in ensuring equitable access to information and resources for all students. In addition, the successful applicant will work with classroom teachers to plan inquiry-based units of study, integrate information literacy into lessons, and develop curricula that incorporates new media and technologies. He or she will also teaches students how to locate, analyze, evaluate, and apply information from various sources, including digital resources and databases. Furthermore, he or she will foster a love of reading and literacy by creating a welcoming and engaging library environment, developing reading programs, and promoting various forms of literacy. Other responsibilities will also include leveraging technology to enhance learning experiences, providing instruction and support for teachers and students in using digital tools. Finally, the successful applicant will be able to provide leadership in the school library, collaborating with staff to develop and implement programs that support student learning and development. and be willing and capable of working collaboratively with the fellow Learning Resource teachers, Education Assistants, parents, and their fellow teachers and staff members. The successful applicant will assist with the extra-curricular program of the school and be involved in school life.

All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply. Our major hiring season is in April for the following school year, but we recommend that you apply now as we receive an influx of applications.
